Which CoD should I buy?

if you're gonna get into modern warfare series, you have to play CoD4:MW1 first because the story continues from first one to MW2. you won't know who the hell the characters are in MW2 if you don't play MW1.

that said, i'm getting rid of my CoD4. if anyone is interested, make me a reasonable offer and its yours.

Note that MW2 will not allow people to play on privately-owned dedicated public servers--only the game studio's servers which means that they have control over custom content and you cannot have clan matches and leagues. That warrants an angry boycott.

While I do agree that COD2 was a great SP and MP experience, maybe he's already played that one?

to each their own. they marketed the SP and ive kept up with the development for each game so i bought the games for that experience. ive been playing mp since quake days, cod isnt anything special.

not really. i think it's just that there's nothing else new on the market right now. we haven't had any other decent mp shooters as of late.

Because by purchasing MW2 you are supporting and encouraging the consolization and destruction of PC gaming.

MW2 is just flat-out awesome. If it's not your type of game then by all means skip it, but if you like online shooters even a little bit I'd say it's the best you can find at the moment. I do think Bad Company 2 will be my primary game once it releases in early 2010, but until then I'm totally digging MW2.

My current favorite is COD WaW. If you like WW2 its currently the best IMHO. Even better they keep updating and releasing new maps for it for free!

COD MW1 would be my second choice.

Depends on what you are interested in. I have them all and am currently progressing up through MW2. The only one I really couldn't get into was COD2. If you liked fast paced, modern weapons, and small maps then Modern Warfare original is as good as it gets plus it plays the smoothest of any online MP game I have ever played. MW2 is pretty neat also but the online server system can get annoying at times. Keep in mind that COD-MW, COD-WAW, and COD-MW2 have a level or rank up system so it's a bit rough starting out as a grunt with not much weapon choices and enhancements compared to everybody else by now. If you like big maps and vehicles (more akin to bf) then COD-UO is a great choice however you need the original COD also as it's an add on.

COD:UO is the best multiplayer game I have ever played. IN fact..I am going to dust off my CD's and reload..maybe some of my old adversaries are still around..heh..I can still outshoot those guys/gals..well..maybe. See you there on-line.
