None is better than the other IMO. Depends what you are looking for. 2005 has better response time.

On Dell's page, it reads, "To optimize this monitor's performance, your system must be able to support WSXGA+ resolution (1680 x 1050).". How do I know whether or not my system supports it? ATI Radeon 8500 owner.

Your card should support it. it all depends on if you want widescreen or not, neither is really "better" they're just different. For everything but games Widescreen is a godsend I have it on my laptop and wish I could get it cheap on my desktop too but thats just me.
