Which Driver?

Hello all:

I have a bit of a conundrum. I am installing my new computer but I don't know which chipset drivers to use. Should I use the ones that came with the mb, the ones posted on ASUS's site, or the nForce package from nVida?

I have an A8N-SLI, are the drivers included on the CD the same ones on their webpage? I notice that these are dated in December whereas the nVidia drivers are dated back in September. Are these the same drivers or do I install both?

Thanks.

im not sure about this board specificly, but as a general rule I'd try to stick to the ones asus (or who ever the board maker may be) puts out, either the ones on the support cd or the ones on the website. That way you are sure you're getting the right version. The ones on the website are sure to be the newest so I'd go with those.

It's probably a good idea in this case to avoid the ones from NVidia. They are all older than the drivers ASUS is providing... and don't claim to support nForce4 at all.

I third that. Just use the drivers off the cd for the time being. nVidia will come out with a unified driver set in the near future (I would hope).

Umm, no...the drivers on the CD are usually MUCH older than those available from the mobo maker. Get the latest from the mobo maker.

They dont make new CDs every time the release a new driver. They probably make 100s of thousands at a time and usually wait until those are all used up before making new ones. Besides, it can be months from the time the mobo is packaged until you receive it.

And, BTW, the latest Nvidia Unified drivers are working like a champ with my Epox NF3 250gb boards.

In this case, the drivers are the same (cd/web site).

nVidia doesn't have a Unified Driver yet for the nf4 chipset.
