Ball bearing fans hold their quality of operation longer than sleeve bearing fans. This point maybe a non-issue if you change fans often but good BB fans last for years.
I like'em. I have three 92mm and one 120mm DTB.
Now the Panaflo and Yate Loon boys will beat me up

As Galvanized knows, Ive never had an issue with my Panaflos. Using 2 x 120mm and 1 x 92mm Panaflo L1A, Ive had them attached to my motherboard headers, used them with a 7v-12v PWM controller and now sitting on my Sunbeam Rheobus (same one as Galvanized recommended to me), Ive never experienced a so-called clicking at any voltage. Also, Id have to dig it out but I think my 92mm Panaflo has been going for 2 years now, nowhere near 24/7 but still going strong whether at full 12v or on controller.
Not to cast doubt on what Galvanized says, just giving my personal experience with them.
Now, looking at those DTB's doesnt convince me that they are quiet enough. My Panaflo's at around 7v blend into the background noise of my PC which I guess means I have some quietening work left to do, which is being partially remedied by my latest order due in a week or 2.
If I can find some DTB's in the UK, I might get a couple of to see what the fuss is about.
