bingo, i went thinking it might justify reloaded. but it was horrible... a thin story stretched over two movies with a buncha filler.

Didn't see any reviews or commercials at all until my boss walked into work and couldn't stop raving about it.

He thought it was so good he gave me one of his free movie passes to go see it. I was totally blown away! I couldn't believe it was such an awesome movie
The Last Samauri was great. X-Men 2 was awesome. Matrix Revolutions licked my balls. The Hulk licked its own balls. Pirates of the Carribbean was pretty cool. None of them was as good as Kill Bill though.

Too hard to pick just one but I'll comment on a few.

Elf - This movie looked sooooooo damn lame from the previews but it was definitely a good movie.
Matrix Revolutions - Man what a letdown. Reloaded was pretty good I thought but I won't even be buying this movie to complete my DVD collection.
Bend it Like Beckham (was that this year? can't remember.....) - lot better than I expected
Bubba Ho-Tep - Bruce Campbell rules. Doubt many people saw this one.........

I missed a Bruce Campbell movie!?!?!?! DAMMIT!!!
They really need to make him a 1st-string actor and give him his own major movie.
I know in his interviews he said he never wanted to be super famous, but I think we all know that's just modesty. There's not a person alive that wouldn't take 10 million dollars to make a movie.

In the least they could at least advertise his movies a bit more (like 1 time at least)

last samurai completely caught me off guard. i was laughing during the trailer (tom cruise, samurai...), and nearly crying during the movie. best movie of the year imo.

and kill bill, that coulda been a real turd but it was aweome

elf, coulda been cheesy, but it was jsut right with his absurd innocense

bad santa - unexpectely funny, good as elf in a different way a ll the previews and commercials suck because they keep cutting out or simply replacing lines with clean ones so the dialog sounds odd.

The Matrix Reloaded AND Revolutions...I thought they were going to be good. Reloaded was a total piece of crap, but Revolutions was a decent (if forgettable and skipable) average action flick.

Otherwise...I'd say The Italian Job. Looked like a cheap payday for the cast...and was actually pretty decent.

Bad Boys 2 - hadnt heard anything about it.. had never seen the first.. blew my mind how funny / good it was

agreed on italian job. i never liked wahlberg as an actor too much, but he did well in this film.

Shattered Glass. It's got Hayden Christensen as the main character (Stephen Glass). Sure, Hayden really didn't flatter the world with his acting chops in Episode II, but in this movie he's riveting.

Seeing all of the controversial threads about people being owned and lying and such that have shown up on the forums recently, I would HIGHLY recommend seeing this film. It's the movie about ULTIMATE PWNAGE. I'm not kidding when I say that, too. ULTIMATE PWNAGE. One of the best films of the year, and not because its popular or has lots of special effects. It's just dang good.

The Italian Job. It came out crammed in between all the other summer blockbusters (Hulk, Finding Nemo, X2, Bad Boys II, Pirates) and kind of got overshadowed, but I thought it was a very enjoyable movie.
