I've got a TI-89 because I'm an engineer and there's a virtual monopoly, but the HP's probably better.

my principal would tell you to get a hp. though i stick to my ti-82. any financial functions i just do in excel.

Whatever the professor will use to teach the course, seriously. I used a BAII Plus when they recommended a 10C or 12B, and while I was able to use it, I basically couldn't follow mindlessly though the exercises.

Actually, wait, get the one they DONT use so you're forced to learn what's going on. (kidding)

hehe dont worry about it. i think it sounded pretty silly too.

i think the old school people prefer the hp 12cs and stuff because back then they didn't have excel... in my opinion, much easier to use excel. but if you do have an exam, that's a different story.

personally, i don't really know how to use the hp 12c...
