I've got a Honeywell Heat Giant 1500W heater, hoping to heat up my bathroom quickly in the morning, and so I don't have to turn up the house heat just for that, then back down before leaving for work, but it doesn't do a great job.

Would a 1500W radiant heater like this do better? Or is 1500W, 1500W?

Or something else in that price range?

Radiant heaters feel good when you're really close, but not when you back away. Fan heaters will spread the heat all around the room so that the whole room gets heated as quickly as possible, BUT that means no one spot will get warm really fast. Yes, 1500 W is 1500 W, no matter what type of heater. In this situation, ALL of the electrical energy consumed ends up as heat in the room.

I had a small pit installed into my bathroom floor, where I burn the bodies of the innocent during the winter months. The heat and aroma from it are incomparable.

The long short radiant heaters like I posted have fans too, but the fan is on the side, blowing into the heater. It has to go somewhere, so I imagine it blows out the front too.

seems like it would be easier and cheaper to just suck it up for the 30 seconds it takes to turn on the shower and then let the steam heat the room.

Given infinite time and a small bathroom, 1500W is 1500W.

Have you considered putting it on a timer half an hour or so before you have to get up? That would maybe be an option. If you have room in your panel for a double pole breaker you could also run a 240volt one, a typical one should give you 2800w. Normally used to heat garages. Now question is, do they make 240V GFCI outlets... lol

If that were the problem, I wouldn't worry about it, but I turn the heat down low overnight, so it's still a bit cold in the shower too. That is, unless I just stand there under hot water. But that makes me late. Then it's really cold when I turn the water off.
