Which game for the wife and me?

Hi guys,

My wife and I have not gamed together for a while, but we thought it was time to start again, and I thought you guys might have some recommendations for a game.

We would like something that is not too complicated, since two small children makes you quite a bit more stupid in the nights. In the past we have had a lot of fun with Champions of Norrath 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 & 2, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, and World of Warcraft. So, something along those lines. though MMOs are out right now, since we will be frequently interrupted.

We have a couple of decent gaming PCs, though one of them, an Asus G53 with a GT460M chip, is getting a bit long in the tooth. It should be able to run modern games at 720p, though.
We also have an Xbox360, a PS3 with a broken drive, a PS2 and a gamecube.

So, Any good games for us?

I was going to suggest something in this genre - Path of Exile, Diablo 3, Torchlight 2, Titan Quest, Sacred, etc.

Agreed on both parts - gorgeous, simple, and fun -- and you can walk away from them anytime.

Might want to try one of those open worlds like Space Engineers or Minecraft... there's fun to be had in creating your own little worlds and doing stuff in 'em.

Very different from what you mentioned youve played before, but I just played five nights at freddys with the gf this weekend and it was a ton of fun. I'm not one to get scared but this scared the crap out of me (in a fun house, jump scare kind of way).

Its 5 bucks, and you guys can play together (same PC). Give it a shot.

Path of Exile.

I installed it last week and played it over last weekend. To be honest, I was not expecting much from a free to play game. Holy crap, this game is amazing.

Path of Exile is what Diablo III should have been.

There is so much to POE I do not know where to start. One thing I really like is how you can do pretty much anything with your character. You are not limited to a certain skill tree like in the Diablo series.

The atributes in POE is like a road map. If you want more strength, start applying your points and working your way to where the strength is at.

Skills are granted through gems. You socket a gem in a weapon or armor. The gem levels up with you. If you find a better armor or weapon, take the gem out and put it in the new armor or weapon.

Another vote for the Trine games here.

Honestly, I think they're the most well-crafted games I've ever played. You can tell Frozenbyte takes great pride in the games they produce. Attention to detail is amazing.

I have installed Path of Exile, and already own Borderlands 2, so I will let her try these 2. If neither of those are to her liking, I will try Trine, Freddy and Torchlight 2.

+1. We love these games. These are the first platformers I have ever liked (I'm a FPS fan). Absolutely gorgeous graphics and great game play. And the co-op aspect is wonderful.

Unless I'm mistaken, the only way you can play Trine (the first one) in multiplayer is on the same computer. Trine 2 can be played either on the same PC or with someone on another PC.
