Star Wars Arcade on 32x is the only game ever to make me slam a controller onto the ground. There's this one level where you need skill to get by, but also alot of luck in avoiding enemy fire. After replaying the level many times, I finally snapped.

Jumping puzzles = dead controller, eh? You'd better stay FAR away from Landstalker on Sega Genesis (though it's actually one of my fav 16 bit games)

ooh, you just reminded me of another.

the original Wonder Boy on the Sega Master System. i broke an SMS controller after getting pissed off trying to make the jumps where the ground was icy. you could make the jump, but it barely gave you enough room to stop yourself from sliding off the part you land on. bastards.

I'm thinking of mario bros: lost levels on SNES. It was like regular mario brothers on steroids. Just insane stuff all the damn time. I can't believe I beat that now that I think about it.

My biggest meltdowns were over the stupid death system in Asherons Call.

For those who don't know, whenever you died in AC you would randomly drop 5-6 of your most valuable items. So then you have to make a loooong run to try to get your stuff back while missing some of your best equipment, which often leads to more deaths and more dropped equipment and more running.

By that point I was usually screaming and attacking random stuff about the house. But I was young then I've gotten much better at turning the system off and walking away if I start to get pissed at a game now.

Project Gotham Racing... some of those races require you to drive PERFECT. I whipped that controller at the entertainment center a few times. so frustrating.

mario kart DS online has made me cuss my lamp quite a few times.

a turtle shell to the face inches before the finish line will drive a man insane.

sports games... probably NHL '94 on SNES caused the most fatlities. Used to play that at work and we'd smash the hell out of the controllers on the concrete ground or the steal doors. Luckily we had a used game store 5mins away where we could pick up a new/used one for $10... probably spent 1/2 my paycheck there

I've never thrown or broken a controller, but I used to get so mad and stomp my feet when we were playing NCAA 2004 a few years ago. We did several seasons' worth where I played a team and two of my roommates played other teams. I would just dominate the CPU opponents, but I've never been very good against other people and it would just make me so mad.

CPU opponents are always easy... no matter the game or genre for the most part. Humans will beat you down every time.

That game made me so mad for reasons beyond that. We played it so much that we found the tiniest little glitches and they just drove us all crazy. I don't know why we even did it to ourselves, haha.

I've been pretty Pissed off in World of Warcraft trying to kill the High Priestess Mar'li .......(Aspect of the Spider)
We finally nabbed that bitch yesterday ... after many many attempts.

We are a small to mid sized guild on Suramar. Most of us have very little MC experience. None of us have any BWL experience.
It took us a while to get the Blood Lord (Raptor guy) right as well, but the hardest for us thus far has been Mar'li.

The instance has reset today, so this evening we'll take out Venoxis and The Blood lord ... then time permitting, we may go after the bat or spider bosses...

There have been two:

- Tommy Lasorda's Baseball on the Saturn (I was 15). When I first got the game I could not beleive how the AI would somehow hit a homerun just when it needed to catch up to me. Once I was playing through to the world series and got there. on game 7 the AI hit a grandslam to win it and I freaked. I picked up a screw driver on the floor next to my TV and drove it through the built-in speaker that was on the side of the TV (as if it was responsible for the games actions).

- Clock Twoer is a Horror Adventure game like RE or Silent Hill. The game looked awesome and I was really into it. The thing that really got to me was how wussy the protagonist was. See, the game does have a health meter, it has a scare meter. When your scare meter reached 100%, the protagonist freaks out and begins running around the room frantically waver her arms, crying -leaving you controlless. Well, after about the 10th time of her doing this near the end, I lost it and began cussing at the programmers (heh) and telling my wife what fvcking morons they were. I then threw my controller on the floor. My wife just stared at me in horror. I felt obligated to complete the game since I was at the end, but I quickly sold it.

haha...in hindsight I feel so silly.

Man, I've been in that situation many times. Especially early on when I was learning the game and didn't know to carry around death items (expensive but worthless items like rings and certain gems).

Luckily for me, I was in a fairly large clan, and could call for "Corpse Recovery" help when I needed it.

My wife slammed my PS2 because I played Socom2 constantly for months. Not sure if that qualifies, but it has to take the cake if it does.

R-type on a TI-83+ calculator in math class. I was racking up a sick score, and some girl accidently bumped me while walking by, and i threw the calc at the chalk board as hard as i could and was about a foot away from hitting the teacher in the face. needless to say I was suspended for 2 days

no this story is not true, but i thought it was amusing

RIP Logitech Blue Mouse... both of you guys.

It was a tough battle in Diablo II.. but you stuck it out as long as you could. Nevermind that click counter program i downloaded and the display saying i cliked over 50,000 times over a couple days.. you tried hard, and i appreciate that though you were a value mouse, you gave it your all.

Ace Combat 5... it requires so much pressure on the buttons...

Other than that... probably StarCraft or Doom3's Turkey mini-game... the 255 maxes in StarCraft UMSes and the Turkey in Doom 3.

Although whenever a game angers me I usually just take a break to go beat the crap out of something that can take the punishment like a matress or pillow.

Most games don't really get at me unless they're cheap, like NFS-MW, how the cops can turn on a dime and have 0-100 acceleration in 2 seconds...games that are lazy like that just suck, but I guess they have to be made that way to be any fun or they might be too easy.

The Tony Hawk games for ps1 made me the most pissed, but I broke a couple keys off my keyboard (just through playing -- not because I was pissed) playing Street Fighter 3 alpha arcade version emulated.
