Which games scared you really, really?
My first guess: Descent Freespace 2: DIVE, DIVE, DIVE, hit your burners pilot... (Lev2 2nd undercover mission group).

Trust me, you'd get freaked out when you're hiding in the jetpack building and there's 4 tanks shooting in all the windows.

I loved that mission. Hell, I loved Freespace 2, and yes, that dive call really freaked me out the first time, and then when I played it again I forgot and it freaked me out again. What a great mission though. Dual Keyser barrels ripping things up =

Turok 2...I know the dinosaurs are going to jump out at me, but it still freaks you out every time. I let my brother play once and he about jumped out of the chair

Serious Sam (in this case, the scare was more of panic due to the number of things coming at you)
Resident Evil (when this monster leaped right through a mirror)

That game was HARD. I loved it though... best of the series by far.

I've only played portions of Undying, but it's pretty freaky. The Thief series while not really scary had a nice gloomy and spooky feel to it in parts. Can't wait for the third installment this winter!

Alone In The Dark scared the crap out of me on more than one occasion. Other than that, I really haven't played any games that really scared me that much.

I'm replaying it...I never finished it, but was so close. Now I'm only in the 2nd world :\ The game seems to have some issues with my system being so much faster than they were when the game came out

That or headphones. I'm actually going to replay Thief 2 now that I have a surround sound setup on the PC. Plus, I want to reacquaint myself with all the storylines so it'll be fresh in my memory when Thief 3 comes out this fall. Along with Half-Life it's easily my favorite single-player game ever. I wish they'd make a third-person view perspective an option on Thief 3. The first two could've use that option at times I thought.
