Which gaming mouse to buy?

Hello,

I'm buying a new mouse and can't really decide which to get. My style of grip is a mix of fingertip and claw grip. While i wouldn't mind extra palm support of the palm gripping mouse, but i'm concerned about the vertical movements - because of the size (lenght) would i be able to make moves up/down without having to move the whole arm? Right now, with my small sized mouse, i can move it around, up and down without having to move my wrist.

My choices are:

Logitech MX518
Big in size, maybe too big for my style of holding (with fingertips)? but surley looks comfortable. Too long for for vertical movements with fingertips (^)?? - maybe with that high of a DPI that wouldn't be a problem.

Icon7 Z500 ( http://www.icon7.com/proinfo_01.asp...00010&cname=Gaming&pname=Z500&ccid=C_00000001 )
Also has a high arch like the MX, but smaller in size (allowing more "free" movement of the mouse with fingertips?)

Icon7 Z300 ( http://www.icon7.com/proinfo_01.asp...00010&cname=Gaming&pname=Z300&ccid=C_00000001 )
Even smaller than Z500.

Logitech G5, G9 and Razers are out of my price range.

I would be grateful any advice/help.

Easily the MX518, considering how cheap it is. I saw it for $25 on Newegg a week or two ago, and it's still only about $30.

I know mx518 is cheap, but for i'm affraid it's too big for my style of playing ...

0roo0roo, i'm from europe, where G9 costs about 134 USD in your currancy, so it's not an option really .. :/ so i'm only looking at mx518, z500 and z300 ...

the ratz looks interesting, but it probably costs just as much in europe

I love my first gen Deathadder. It's been very accurate and reliable. I wouldn't go back to a laser mouse anytime soon. Although I have been hearing great things about the Steelseries Xai. The only problem is that customer service with steelseries is non-existent so if anything goes wrong you are out of a lot of money. I have a barely working Ikari sitting around that started to crap out after less than a year. SS didn't even respond to my emails.

I would second this. Avoid Steelseries unless you consider the mouse disposable after the warranty runs out. That's assuming you can even get an RMA from them, which I doubt. My Ikari Laser just crapped out after about 18 months. I created an account on their site, and whenever I try to go to the form for asking a question or requesting an RMA, it automatically logs me out of the site. They don't respond to emails either apparently.

Sucks because the Ikari is a very nice, comfortable mouse. It's just unreliable and the company obviously doesn't stand behind their products.

Thats exactly the way that I felt about the Ikari and Steelseries.

Don't buy a CoolerMaster Storm Sentinel either. I have one and there's either something wrong with it or it was designed for frustration. I can't return it, either.

Oi, I literally just made an account and opened a ticket because my year-old Ikari Laser has started double-, triple-, and quadruple-clicking when I press the left mouse button. That's not encouraging...

Havent had experience with their customer service but their mice are pretty damn good. Ive been using the Xai.

I sold my MX518 recently for $25. It has a good resale value seeing that BB still has it listed for $50.

Well, the Ikari is an excellent mouse - at least it was, until the extra clicks started. SteelSeries has informed me that I am SOL because it's six weeks out of warranty... great.
