Which Geforce 3

I write you from Italy and our choice and prices are a little different than in US....

this is what I can have:

Hercules Ti200 for 250 $
Hercules Ti500 for 375 $
Gainward Ti450 for 300 $
Leadtek (old Geforce3) for 425$
Elsa 721 (Ti200) for 310 $

what do you think ???

or is there coming to Venice before Christmas that will bring me a Leadtek under 300 $ LOL

the gainward would be my first choice and then the elsa, dont mess with herc and thats too much for the leadtek.

Stay away from the Herc card... it has aweful 2d at higher refresh rates/resolutions. I would get the Leadtek, but its too pricey. You might try the Gainward or Elsa card instead.

overclock way passed Ti500 specs.... worth it..!!!

A question:
OK, a GF3 can reach quite easily a GF3 Ti500. Can't a GF3 Ti500 be overclocked to a point that no GF3 can reach it?

first ... why not Hercules ? any particular reason ? It will be the easiest one to get ( shop 2 mts. away from work)... and I've not been very lucky on my last internet buy (my TB 1.4 died after few hours... they are changing it yes but it's 60 days i'm waiting .... next week should be the good one)

second what about ABIT GeForce 3 Ti 200 for 310 $ ???

There is nothing wrong with Herc, unless you like crappy 2d.. In this I mean that at higher resolutions and refresh rates the text will be fuzzy and quite possibly unreadable. If you run at 800x600 you will be fine. If you run at 1280x1024 at a refresh rate of 85hz then expect it to be blurry.

or there is nothing wrong with the herc card if you dont mind crapy 2d that is, mine was utter junk and i sold the 200$ prophet i had to a freind for 40$ a few months after i bought it just becasue i refeuse to rip of my freinds no mater how bad herc riped me off. i cant speak from experiance but rummer has it that the abit is the same way, though i supose if it is another much easier option you should simply see if you can check it out first hand. gainward and elsa on the other hand both have wonderfull 2d, for a geforce anyway, and the price is respectable on the european market wich is why they are at the top of our lists.

that would be a bold assumption to make, rather you will have beter luck at obtaining higher speeds with a ti500, for instance my oldschool visiontek only goes to 225/525. granted i dont feel any need to go out and get a ti500 simply to add 15mhz more on the core clock and loose 25mhz from the memory only to see if it can overclock to beat the preformace of my current card wich i have no real complaints about.

i'm trying to have an elsa (i have 2 different stores checking for me) and if i fail within 10th December i will have to get a Hercules or....

any idea about MSI ???

they sell it under the Creative branch in Italy at the same price than Hercules

No, no I didn't mean that. I think the same way as you do as I just bought a really cheap Chaintech G300 (GF3) and I can go till 210/500 (haven't tried it in higher levels) without problems. I was just *wondering* if these new GF3 Ti500 are something more than just an overclocked version of GF3s (apparently not )
