You can get a "C-Type" cooler like the NH-C14 that's able to cool off the entire CPU region.

Air not water cooling.

Hot temps idling at 60 throttling cpu at 80 cant game. Cpu temps are nice and cool Vrm's are nice and cool northbridge blazing hot. Monitoring with Hw monitor. So which do you like.

I am not a physics expert but I stayed a Holiday Inn Express and I say the second option looks promising. I like how Xigmatek offset the tower just a tad which is what I had to do with my HR-05 on a P35 board. It may or may not have more surface area but it is elevated so if they are to run passively, it would catch more airflow from chassis fans. The only reason I would go for the first choice would be for compatibility reasons, but from experience you can bend heatpipes pretty effectively

I'm with you, Holiday Inn Express is the way to go.

I've used the silenx and it works. You might need to hack it with a dremel to fit item on your board.
Myself I would try the Xigmatek because the other was not stellar.

Just to toss in another option; if you can find a Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II, I've used one for several years now, and it's been nothing but reliable for me.

Is there a way to ghetto mount a fan on the pins maybe some double sided tape because I have some fans laying around.

I've just used common twist ties for this

Not pretty, but if you get black ones you can make it look pretty decent if you twist them tightly enough and wrap the ends around a little bit.
