BitWise Chat! Of course, I guess I'm biased.

Plus it can send files faster than most and can get around some router problems that hang up the other, especially MSN... the whole thing grew out of frustration with the existing ones so we've tried to get around the annoyances of them.

Trillian here, nothing beats it. The older version did have some issues, but for the better part of a year it's been squeaky clean. I too am thinking about upgrading to Pro, does anyone using Pro recommend it, I mean is it that much better/cooler? Of course I'll probally buy it to support the company anyway.

Only thing I notice about Trillian Pro is that it can pull in the message history when you open a conversation, making it easier to remember what you last talked about. And it has more plugins. Not much other than that that affects me.

I really wouldn't recommend it. At least don't expect anything other than the right to use Trillian Pro legally. These guys run their company like a multi billion dollar corporation or something, its extremely impersonal. I payed just to support the company like many of you are considering, and I don't feel like they appreciate their customers at all. Quote davidvermillion from the member forums...

Im not so sure I agree with the way the beta is being handled. Yes, I understand the reasons for not distributing it to every pro user and I understand why its kept out of the general publics hands...but come on here people

You mods and beta testers are treating this beta like its the key to the universe. You all talk about how you are bound under NDA and there is this whole CIA type cover up thing thats going on where it takes a miracle just to even get told it exists. I addition, I think its kind of arrogent to assume that these chosen beta testers are the only ones who could test software.

NO, I do not want the beta, NO, I dont really wanna be a beta tester, and NO, I wouldn't use the beta illegally if I had it. I am simply a paying customer and I love trillian. I'll wait patiently for the 1.1 release...but come on guys

Look at all the threads started about the beta. Has one ever been started by a mod or a tester? Have you ever signed an NDA? Basically it states that if you leak, you're liable. You can be sued for damages. Even if you're found not to have violated it, you still need to pay to defend yourself.

As you can see this isn't exactly the kind of company you give money to just because you want to support their efforts...

Beside, I use aim v. 5.01. I used Trillian a while ago but switched to Aim cuz direct connetion is much easier on image transfer than trillian...
