which is better, gainward pro650 gf4 mx440 or radeon 7500 64ddr

I am thinking of going after the Dual monitor action and my current radeon doesnt support it, should i go and get a different radeon with dual view or a gainward geforce4 mx440 pro650 with nView? I cant seem to find any benches that compare them.

The MX440 is a decent card, with a pretty good multimonitor implementation, among the best 2D available from an nVidia board, and the GF4 MX has made huge strides in DVD playback. It's also a bit faster then the R7500.

That sauid, the R7500 is a bit more well rounded, and the GF4 MX isnt a very big improvement over the R7500 in performance, and inferior in some aspects. Personally I'd say your likely going to be disappointed as the differnce between the two cards isnt gonna be very big.

Spend a little extra money and get something a bit better.

The R8500 is pretty cheap right now and'll give you a definite performance boost over either of the above cards, excellent DVD and 2D playback, extremely good FSAA implementation, and full DX8 support. Along with a very nice multi-monitor implementation.

If all you want is something that is at least as good as your R7500 with multimonitor support, then I'd have no qualms with recommending the MX440.
But with the R8500 being only slightly more expensive and a much better card all around I definitely recommend spending the bit extra if your hoping for anything more then a very small upgrade.

Wow, I thought the AIW 7500 was the only Radeon 7500 without dual head support. Another alternative would be to drop a secondary PCI card in place for dual monitor support. I use my ol trusty V3 2000 when the dual monitor urge hits me, works good.
