Which is better?

Due to a certain situation, I now have an extra mobo to use with my TBird 950.
So which of the two would yeild better performances for gaming, an Epox 8KTA3 or an ECS K7S5A?
I will be running a TBird 950 with 384MB SDRam and a Radeon 64DDR

I know some ppl have a beef with the ECSk7S5A, but mine works perfectly, so try to keep personal opinions aside

Even with SDRAM, the ECS board would have better performance at factory settings. I'm not familiar with how overclockable the 8KTA3 is, but considering it is Epox, I would imagine that it OC's decently.

its been so long ago i cant remember for sure, but i was thinking that when the k7s5a first came out i saw some reviews that showed it was slower then a kt133a board (which the epox 8kta3 is) if sdram was used

the sis 735 with sdr is pretty equal to the kt133a, in some benchmarks one was higher, and in other benchmarks it was reversed

Go with the epox...nothing to back it up with, the name is just cooler anyways, good luck with your selection

with sdram, epox is behind, if you plan to buy ddr, ECS will be better.

I'm am planning to use DDR ram eventually, I guess the K7S5A will serve me longer than the Epox.

But like what Lithium381 said, using an Epox mobo makes me feel more at ease than using an ECS board...
