What should I buy first?? A 15GB ATA100 Deskstar, to upgrade over my 8GB 38400RPM peice of crap?? Or should I buy 128MB of Mushkin RAM, to upgrade over my 96MB (which consists of 3 32MB sticks) of generic RAM??? I also need a bigger case.....damn, decisions, decisions....

it all depends what's more important too you. If your out of space on your HD and you desparetly need more room, then the HD. If you've got room to spare and you want your comp to run faster then the RAM. It all depends on your situation, what you use your comp for, and your priorities. You can't have other ppl tell you what you should buy first...

Actually, upgrading the hard drive WILL make the computer run faster... just try it and you will see

Things such as booting the computer, loading programs, switching levels in games, etc. will all be faster and the system will seem more responsive (partially b/c the virtual image is on a faster drive too).

Getting a faster HD will increase PC performance alot, there will be alot of new speed increase. Adding more ram above 96meg doens't seem to help much, only needed if your doing alot of heavy mult-tasking, otherwwise 96meg is OK.

I'm with booty. I mean, I know it is quantitively inferior, but with quality such as that, 38,400 rpm, maybe you should just get a supplementary cheetah?
