which is the best 4870x2 ?

However I find it is a very poor review.. not really listing the pros and cons of each card and not offering any chart comparing the cards between themselves.

Does anyone know of a better brand comparison review that might show which has the best cooling solution and explain in better detail the differences between the different cards?

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. Because right now I just don't know which to pick.

All got the same crappy cooling too? Is there any decent non-water cooling solution on the horizon for the X2? like a Thermaltake HR-03 plus adapted to the X2? that would be sweet..

i went for the cheapest and it was VisionTek from BestBuy for $469

My HD4870x2 is a *solid* heavy card - longer than my 4870 - and way [way] way (way) heavier than my Sapphire 4870/512M

X2 *requires* a 6-pin + 8-pin PCIe connectors - 8pin adapter not included; although they have molex to 6-pin. So i 'fooled' CCC into accepting and even O/C'ing it with the old "alligator clip over exposed pins to ground" trick. Its OCs fine to 800/1000 with the fan turned up.

VT has a lifetime warranty compared with my Sapphire 2-years [and Sapphire require a $15 fee to process your RMA should it need it]

AND .. what surprised me was that i got a "bundle" for included with VT's X2 .. nothing with the Sapphire

and don't worry, the reference cooling solution is OK - just loud if you plan to OC it very much; it is very quiet on the Sapphire x1 and slightly louder on the VT x2. Too quiet on the Sapphire and i turned it up to get 820/1150 O/C. 3DMark06 is about 14,800 with the x2, only 1500 more than with the x1 .. so i am getting e8400/x48/pc8500. Evidently the X2 is held back somewhat at 3.33Ghz. i am getting 8xMSAA at generally the same or slightly higher FPS as with the X1 manages with much less filtering

I would probably go with apoppin...can't go wrong with any of them but I would choose a VT. I bought a Palit because most others were out of stock(Palit is great also). No complaints so far. Put a Danger Den DD-4870x2 block on it(this thing is stupid heavy, but it's awesome) and flashed it to 850/1000. Furmark 1920x1080 4xAA stable for 1 hour(+).

I got tired of waiting for BestBuy to restock and they were up to 569 when I checked. 549 at Newegg with the bundle.
