They each have their strengths and weaknesses. They all will perform within a few percentage points of each other, so it comes down to what you want.

Basically, 90% of the people on this forum will answer with whatever board they own.

Just look at the features of each of the boards you listed and decide which one you need. From the reviews that I have seen they are all pretty much the same as far as performance.

If you want raid, 5.1 sound, smartcard reader, front and rear usb, 10/100 nic, etc, which I did then the soyo dragon plus is an excellent choice.

Unfortunately, for me, it is a huge steaming pile of SH!T!!

Can't wait to RMA this thing and get something that works.

im going to get the soyo one or the msi version. im still deciding. both companys make good motherboards for the kt266a. if you need usb 2.0 go with msi, but if you want built in ethernet and 5 channel sound pick soyo

i now own a Shuttle FV24

i used to own mobos made by Soltek, MSI, Soyo, Asus, Abit, Epox, and Iwill. the best built and most stable of them all was the Epox. really well built, good designs, and very stable.

it really depends what you want

Asus if you want a board the broken features on it when shipped. (thermal diode)

MSI if you like future problems but would rather have usb 2

soltek if you like a challenge finding the damn boards, only person I know to get one got it in china

epox for o/cing

soyo seems good, but its pricy.

SOyO DRAGON +

most stalbe athlon mobo ive used so far

and ive owned leadtek sis 735, epox 8kha+ (2 of them) and epox 8k7a

the soyo is far the most stable in my experience.

Only thing about the soyo is onboard sound. DONT USE IT. 1 its not that good (copmared to soundblaster audigy) 2 its not that stable. (in my experience. I use windows xp) disable that and its a great mobo.

I just ordered the Soyo Dragon Plus.

I am going from a OC Celly system.. 300a@527 on a bx6 2.0, 384mb, V5 5500, MX300 sound, netgear nic.. etc

I'm hoping the sound lives up to what people have been claiming. I'm throwing 2 sticks of Crucial 256meg ddr and a 1700+. Hoping all goes well. I'm still debating on what OS to go with... (win2k right now)

Was it possible for me to have been any more right? Oh wait, I should have said "99%".

BTW... the best KT266A mobo is the Epox 8KHA+.
