I was just curious to find the largest game ever produced .

I have heard that MGS4 is the largest which utlizes a dual-laer bluray disc.

So,if you could point out the 5 or 6 largest game produced.

I also heard that Resistance and Uncharted were more than 20 gigs.....

MGS4 is probably the largest size wise game produced.... that being said, and if you'll excuse the pun: size doesn't matter one bit... its all in how you use it.

That's what people w/ small equipment would say.

I don't know, i don't really have a lot of respect for the uber huge games. They hardly ever look better then their smaller competitors and so whats that extra usage for? Waisted space?

I was going to make that point. $60 for 20 hours of CGI and around 4 hours of playable content. It wasn't a 'game'.

I think there has to be a limit here on that then. Otherwise, I could make a game where it shows the background to the game (Lets say, the entire trilogy of the lord of the rings with the exception of the ring destruction part) then make a ten minute game having one destroy the ring, then go back to another cut scene of the movie.

An extreme example, but still it must be brought up.

irrelevant, games a game and it uses whatever amount of space for whatever it wants. even if you disagree and still want to say that certain content doesnt count, theres really no way for you to put a number on that content. anyway the size of a game has no bearing on how good it is. its a pretty useless stat and only really matters to the developer.

For the PS3 its MGS4, XBOX 360 its Lost Odyssey (4x DVD-DL) and for the Wii its Super Smash Brothers Brawl which uses a DVD-DL. I'm not sure what it would be for the PC.

#1 There wasn't 20 hours of un-playable CGI
#2 The game last more than 4 hours, unless you are a skilled player bum rushing through the game like crazy.

Plus, many recent hit games have much less playable content, so even if MGS4 has more playable content, but more cutscenes to go with it, it suddenly isn't a game?

You know they allow people like you to skip cutscenes, right?

Idiot.

When the "game" is 80% cutscene and 20% gameplay, you shouldn't be making the "you can skip cutscenes" argument. You would have no idea what the hell was going on.
In the 3 acts I've played I've probably played about 2 hours of actual game. Most of which consisted of a 20 minute cutscene followed by "gameplay" that consisted of Otacon telling me to go to x location so I can watch another f'ing 20 minute custscene.

They should have just sold it as a collectors edition DVD for 40 bucks.

Name five.

My first play through took 24 hours which, of course, includes watching all of the cutscenes and done on 'normal'. My second play through was 3 hours and 47 minutes. I skipped all cutscenes and codec scenes and played on very easy.

The point is that there is very little game to MGS4. People bitched and moaned about COD4 being short, but praise a 'game' that can be played in under 4 hours.

And the name calling isn't necessary. It just shows you're too sensitive.

20 hours? Maybe like 4 hours.

And there was more than 4 hours of playtime, buddy.

It obviously isn't for me, but I at least gave it a chance and still dislike it.
I really have no problem with a lot of cutscenes, I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy series. The problem I have is the length of the cutscenes, and how often they take place. They could have made you play a long stretch of gameplay and then a cutscene to reward you (ie every other game) but instead they opted to put cutscenes in between every minor point of gameplay. They occur so often and at such length that it feels like I'm just watching it. It's a lot like Dragon's Lair to me, it feels overly scripted and non-interactive.

Anyway, I was wrong on the 80/20 point, but I exaggerated because that's how it feels. My girlfriend has even asked me numerous times if you actually get to play the game or if you just watch it.
