Which lithium batteries do you recommend?

Wasnt sure where to ask this. But i wanted some really long lasting AAA batteries for my wireless KB.

I was looking at Energizer E2 lithium's. but then they also have an Energizer Advanced Lithium and some other one that says similar but is cheaper with different model number?

Anyone know which one would be best? I have considered some rechargables but i'd prefer whichever actually lasts the longest per install so i don't have to deal with the KB issues of missing keystrokes due to low battery level as frequently.
FOr some reason, any kind of cheap or alkaline batteries don't make it a day or so before it starts missing keystrokes. I got some lithium ones and their working well for a while but starting to act up again.

I started with Eneloop over 3 years ago and have not purchased an "ordinary" battery since then.

I am not qualified to call them the best.

They also offer AAA.

Looks interesting, although i thought the rechargable stuff never lasts as long per use as non rechargables? i mean i know their cheaper in the long run, but curious what kind of hours the differences would be.

In the past some of the short runtime on rechargeables was because the battery lost charge with time. That effect has been largely reduced on current nimhs, particularly the eneloops.

I've used both lithium and eneloops in my wireless mouse last couple years and the eneloops last long enough that i haven't bothered with lithiums lately.

That's too much of a generalization. It depends on the current being drawn by the device using the batteries. The more current it draws, the worse alkalines will be. The Ah capacities stated are only correct at the current drawn to test them (this is also true of other battery types). IIRC, it's somewhere around 100ma for AAAs, where NIMH batteries start to shine (Lithiums, too, but it you could get a better wireless keyboard cheaper than a few months worth of batteries).

Get some Eneloops, Duracell Precharged, or Rayovac Hybrids, in a small package--or a package with a charger, if you don't have one--and give them a shot. Low self-discharge NIMH batteries aren't your daddy's NiCads. If they work well for you, get a decent one-channel-per-battery smart charger (<$30, will help get maximum charge and maximum service life).

all three of those battery brands are about equal in performance, the duracells are just repacked eneloops and the rayovacs are surprisingly good for the money.

and to be honest, for a keyboard i would stick with alkalines. ive done the lithium replacements before and i just didnt notice any longer lifespans... not in the low power draw stuff at least. im sure in cameras and such the lithiums last a lot longer, but for a keyboard i think alkalines will probably hold up best (almost no self discharge). i know the lithiums are supposed to have a long shelf life but so do alkaline...

Energizer Ultimate Lithiums .. just bought a pack of AA size a few months back. They are said to last 8 times longer than Alkaline batteries.

I just wanted to point out that for low draw devices, lithium batteries won't last much, if any longer than an alkaline battery. Lithiums are great for high draw devices but not so much for low draw devices. For low power devices I think alkalines are your best bet. Even low self discharge NIMH's are not likely to last as long as a regular alkaline. They may self discharge slower than most regular NIMH's but still much faster than an alkaline.

Also, if you're having problems with your keyboard after just a few days of use, I'd be wondering if there was something wrong with the keyboard. BTW, Energizer now seems to sell two lines of lithium batteries. The original lithiums are now the "Ultimate" line and now they have an "Advanced" line which is cheaper and I assume lower capacity.

Enloops for any device...IF it doesn't recharge the batteries itself. (cordless phones, etc.) I contacted Sanyo about using Enloops in my Panasonic cordless phones. They said they MIGHT work, but may not charge correctly.
As long as you use the appropriate charger, Enloops can't be beat.

Yes, Enloops batteries are Ni-Mh, NOT lithium ion.

As far as recycling is concerned, my town has a bin for batteries at it recycle center. It is up to them or whoever they send them to, to sort them by types.
