Which memory do I go with for my system?

After numerous posts and searches, I am almost set on my system (see below). I pretty much decided that I will go with PCI-E. I need to ask a few more questions:
1. Which CPU & RAM do I go with? (choices are within each category)
2. Are there any other components that you would change to optimize my setup?
3. Will all of the selected components be compatible with each other?
4. Which components can you get away with getting oem (to save $)?

Note: Main purpose for computer is internet (& VOD), DVD, photoshop, office, and occassional gaming. I'm not planning to OC for now but who knows in the future.

My proposed setup:

CPU: AMD Athlon64 ?Winchester? 90nm <socket 939> 3000+ OR 3200+

MB: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe <socket 939> PCI-E

Case: Antec Sonata w/ 380W TruePower

Video: Leadtek Winfast PX6600GT TDH PCI-E

Audio: Creative Labs Audigy2 PCI

TV: Leadtek Winfast TV 2000XP Expert

HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 200GB SATA

DVD: NEC 3520A 16x8x4x

FDD: Mitsumi 7 in 1 Floppy & Card Reader

Memory (all are 184 pin, PC3200, 1GB (512MBx2): Do I want to get a PC3200?

Mushkin Dual Channel DDR#991368 ($185)

Mushkin Blue Dual DDR #991140 ($179)

Mushkin Dual Pack DDR #991145 ($137.25)

PDP DDR #PDC1G3200LLK ($183)

Patriot Signature Dual Channel #PSD1G400KH ($146)

Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed #TWINX1024-3200C2PT ($189)

Corsair Value Select Dual Channel #VS1GBKIT400C3 ($139.67)

Go for the 3200 CPU.

As for memory the OCZ PC4400 Gold or Corsiar PC4400. These will guarantee you memory clocks of 275mhz but they do go further.

If you dont plan on overclocking go for OCZ PC3200 Platinum Revison 2 or Corsail PC3200XL as these have tighter timings low down.

Right, which will give him maybe 1% of actual performance increase.

No, I would reccomend either the Mushkin Dual pack for $137 or Corsail Value for $139. There is not much of a practical reason to have super fast expensive memory if your not going to OC. If nothing else, it would be better to buy more memory than faster memory.

Why exactly do you think one needs faster memory to OC on A64?

just use dividers and value pc3200 memory. memory speed dosent affect speed as much as ultra low latencies.

Thats not the question. You keep acting like one is better of with faster memory to OC. That is not the case, and is generally a waste of money.

ermm no its not. memory bandwith is much more important for most apps especially gaming. If you have a system running at HTT260 x 10 with memory at 220, a system at 260 x10 1:1 is much faster. There is the problem that you cant go over 250mhz at 1T at the moment but hopefully it gets fixed by a bios update. And if it does with PC4400 you should be able to hit 300mhz 1:1 with loser timings which would stuff the value ram that will only clock to 210 or 220 if you are lucky.

Not true for A64 based systems. Read the following thread:

They are as it comes Pre OCed. IE it is above the JEDEC standard. People dont buy expensive memory just so they can leave it at stock most of the time they buy it to OC. THe Value RAM is awesome and performas the exact same, however the high quality memory OCS much much farther.

I did, asshat.

Im sure everyone reading the thread that wants you banned is reading that right now.
