I'm a big fan of BBC nature documentaries like Planet Earth, Life and Frozen Planet; bet those look stunning on a big screen.
Olympus Has Fallen
Xmen Days of Future Past
Pacific Rim
all also VERY good to test your sound system, ESPECIALLY pacific rim. that is up there as one of the top sounding movies of all time imo.

In order -
Star Wars
Blade Runner
5th Element
Guardians of the Galaxy
Alien
Tron [original version]
Then go from there..
I got two SVS PB12-NSD's to replace my Klipsch Sub-10 this past spring. Pacific Rim is now a whole different movie. Relatively certain the house next door can feel when we're watching it
yeah, i have 2 18's and the bass in it is incredible. but it's not just like the loud obnoxious booming bass that sounds too loud. it is blended incredibly well with the rest of the soundtrack. bass isn't the only thing that sounds amazing in that movie, everything about the movie sounds great.
That's the important part.
That movie especially, the bass is there when it needs to be and isn't just a muddied mess. Even great subwoofers can't turn a garbage mix into something awesome.

Haha. You watched transformers.
Haha. You watched transformers.
i watched that within the past 6 months on bluray on my 120" screen and the picture/sound in that movie is meh. nothing special at all as far as sound and video quality goes.
Kingdom of Heaven DC is great visuals + sound, and is also an awesome flick.
Which PJ do you have? We have the same size screen. I'm still rocking a jvc rs15 that's like 5 years old and I keep thinking it might be time to upgrade but not a lot out there is exciting under $5k.

You've already watched Clockwork Orange right?
I never imagined 3D was so popular. My TV is not 3D.
