Between these two ~$90 kits, would you recommend?

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
  • DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
  • Timing 16-20-20-38
  • CAS Latency 16
  • Voltage 1.35V

Patriot Viper Steel 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)
  • DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)
  • Timing 18-20-20-40
  • CAS Latency 18
  • Voltage 1.35V

I am leaning toward Corsair kit but would like the option to try to hit 3600 but it is not a deal breaker. And don't want to have to give ANY more voltage to get there. You think the Corsair be able to hit 3600 at CL18 with no added voltage? TIA

For what system? If you want to try for 3600MT/s, I would probably go with the Patriot, and just use the profile. I kinda doubt the Corsair would OC very much.

I got the Patriot kit. Passed a few hours memory test @ 3600MHz with just 1.3V even at the XMP timings. The motherboard it eventually was going into (not mine) did not allow more than 1.30v overvolt. So it worked out great.

Yeah, Patriot is surprisingly solid as that is not a name I would have associated with RAM previously. My 8200 MT/s Patriot kit worked right away in XMP with 245KF.

That's great that the kit worked fine at XMP but with 50mV less than called for.

Or the motherboard is actually giving wee more than selected or reported by the hardware monitor circuit. I didn't break out my DVM to see.
