Easy another vote for A70 . Remember it has better 3x optical zoom and uses "AA" batteries, also CF cards come in larger sizes then SD cards that SD100 uses.
I have the A70, so I guess my vote is bias, but I love it and recommend it to anyone looking for a sub $300 camera. You just cannot get a better camera with more options for the money. That is why it is raved about so much.
I just got the s400 and compared it to my s110. The extra 1X in optical zoom is much better. SD is okay, since I had a dell Axim, I had both memory types. I would opt for the a70 in term of optical zoom. But i like the features of the sd100. Have you looked at the s230 ? Its 268 from amazon. Similar spec as teh SD100 but uses CF
A70 advantages:
3X Vs 2X zoom
Ability to use add on lenses
Uses AA batteries
Uses CF storage (this may or may not be a benefit depending on how you look at it)
Better user controls (dont have to do as much through the LCD menu)
SD100 advantages
Very small. Fits in a shirt pocket or Altoids tin
Comes with a rechargeable battery and charger.
Stainless steel body (A70 is plastic)
9 point AF (A70 is 5 point)
So, it comes down to how important is the tiny size of the SD100 to you?
