I agree with Sohcrates and the general assumption about Nic cards. I'm not sure if your specific Nics are listed here, but Tom had a review on Nics awhile back Link. I hope that helps.
I have the $15 Linksys card from newegg. I can't tell a different between it and my old $35 3Com NIC. The Linksys card actually has a smaller footprint.
When picking a NIC I just choose whichever one has good drivers. I've installed a few of those D-links and they are fine. I also pick based on linux support .. right now all my linux boxen have ISA slots and I'm using 3C509's .. (10mbit)
