which PCI slots are shared?

Is there a standard for which PCI slots are shared on a motherboard? I have a Gigabyte GA-7DX lying around and I can't remember where to place the cards. Is there a way for me to figure it out by myself?

I think some boards are 2 and 4. But I'm going on hearsay. I read it here on the boards.

Download the manual if you don't have one. It may specify it. It's hard to decode the meaning though, as they don't specify the slots as slot1 shared with slot2, it's some weird combinations.

Of course, I haven't noticed any sharing of slots on any of my boards in the last couple of years. Usually the slots were also not sharing IRQs between each other, but sharing with a device integrated in the motherboard (like slot4 might always share an IRQ with integrated audio if used). And Windows now can ignore the BIOS assignments entirely anyway.

Some manuals have the info on what slots are sharing. I don't know Gigabyte. Also, sometime, you can uncover the information in the BIOS by looking at what devices are sharing which interrupts. I've moved a soundcard and a network card from slot to slot to slot before just to map out the sharing. Doesn't really take too long.
