So it is time for me to upgrade to a new phone, and I just can't decide whether I want a BlackBerry Torch, or Iphone 4.

Wants:

-Watch videos
-Browse internet
-Listen to music
-Play games

I understand BB has BBM, but I don't know too much about BlackBerry phones, what would you guys recommend? I am only 17 so no I do not do any business either.

Given what you've said, I'd tell you to go with the iPhone... there's really nothing that you'll benefit from with the BB.

For those things, the iPhone is likely the better choice. The Torch has its advantages over iPhone, mostly keyboard and BES related, but you didn't mention those things as mattering to you

You really need to give more details. Size, keyboard preference, app requirements.. etc.. iPhone's work for most, but a lot of people complain about AT&T.. Android's are exploding all over the place, I have an HTC EVO and I love it.. there are a million different form factors to Android phones.

IP4 over the Torch for what you will be using it for.

Since you are so young, will you be buying this off-contract?

Engadget mentioned in their podcast this week that they kept their Torch and have been trying it with the tweaks/updates from BB, they still don't like it at all...

Might consider the HTC Aria if you're sticking with AT&T. You'll get what you want out of your phone and you'll be able to reliably make calls on it too!

Android doesn't offer all the games that the iPhone does, but other than that, I'd wholeheartedly offer recommend Android over iOS.

No reason to go Blackberry anything if you're 17 and not in business. If those are your only two choices then definitely go the iPhone.

Well I live in Canada, and I am currently with Fido, not sure if I can switch to Rogers(has more phone choices), there is not AT&T.

Definitely skip the BB Torch. It's really aimed towards people who need a Blackberry but want something more modern than their other phones, but if you don't need the Blackberry Internet Service for work, it's not worth it at all. It's like a 2009 midrange smartphone for the price of a 2010 superphone.

I'd get either an iPhone or a high-end Android phone. Not sure what's available in Canada on which carriers but any Samsung Galaxy S variant (I think the Samsung Vibrant is available in Canada) will be great for gaming.

If you're considering the iPhone, you should also consider any of the new Windows Phone 7 devices. They will be here soon.

Fido has the Acer Liquid which is a pretty good Android and much cheaper. Rogers has the Liquid as well as the Samsung Captivate (high-end Android).
