Which power supply would you go with?

I have narrowed down my choices to either an Antec 550 TC or an Enermax. For the price of the Antec though it equates to 460-470 watt Enermax. I just want a good psu. I went cheap last year and it died. I know about all the other psus, but I have decided it will be one from either of these two. Does the Enermax warrant being chosen over the Antec? I would really appreciate folks' personal experiences. Even a lil chime in from the one who did the Anandtech review would be nice as well . Lets say I don't wanna buy another power supply for 4-5 years. But performance is at the top of the list. As always thanks for any advice or info.

I like Antec, they make good products and last a long time. I have a few friends that have Antec and they like em alot. The truepower runs real quiet too.

Have you looked at the newer 470watt enermax with the dual independent 12v rails??? looks sweet and the price is just at 100 dollars....

Unless you have duallies or ocing to 3.5-4.ghz levels with a power hog vid card and plenty of drives the 550 is likely overkill....

I am looking at the 470 one above for my new Dual Xeon/Opteron Rig

I <3 my 2 enermaxes. The Antec seemed to have weaker rails comparatively; ie. the Enermax was usually overspec, while the Antec was under

I'm running a Dual Athlon XP 1800+, Asus A7M266-D, MSI Geforece 3 Ti200, 2 HDD, 2 optical drives, and a couple PCI cards with an Enermax 330W for 1.5 years now. Used it for a year before that with a single XP 1800+ rig.

I wouldn't get the Antec because it's rails are lower and it's noisy. I like the Fortron models because they are on (or above) said voltage and are very quiet.

I'm another Fortron guy, but if those two you listed are your picks, Antec all the way.

i would get the enermax that duvie reccomended.

thermaltake 560W = more quiet, less expensive, more power, wrapped cables, sata connectors, and it's black . Why would i buy enermax, because it is a better known name brand?

I like the Zalman 400 or the Seasonic 350. Do you really need all that power? How much hardware are you running? Is noise a factor for you?

Best thing about the TTs . . . doesn't sound like a DustBuster inside your case . . . i'm VERY satisfied with my TT 480w. . . . but feel free to choose a "better" name.
