which processor should i get?

i am looking at the
p4 2.8E
p4 2.8C
p4 2.4A prescott

which do you reccomend?

i have 1gig of corsair xms pc2700 in dual channel.

Well, if you're not planning on replacing your ram, you're stuck with the 2.4A. The other two have a 200 mhz fsb, so you'd need at least PC3200, if you weren't planning on overclocking the chip.

well if i got the 2.4 i would oc but not if i got the 2.8's because of the ram dilema. i am able to oc my ram to function at pc3200 speed stable.

but i guess my main question is which do you think would be better performance wise
2.4 oc to hopefully over 3Ghz with noHT
or just run 2.8 C or E at stock speed with HT.

Well, if you know that your ram will run at 200mhz, I would definitely get the 2.8C. It's considerably faster than a 2.8E, and it runs much cooler, even with both chips at stock speeds.
