I quickly upgraded my 60GB launch unit to 120GB and proceeded to watch a bunch of BD movies and rarely play games. Nothing's worth $60 IMO and the "Greatest Hits" series should be <$25 even after the generational software price increase from $50 to $60 at launch (the value series discount should rise proportionally; $19.99 was 40% of $49.99, $23.99 is 40% of $59.99). :roll: $29.99 is still 50% of $59.99 and is more in-line with what I expect at launch. Like DVDs, I think they should be impulse-priced to expand the audience and benefit from economies of scale rather than priced for a hit-driven market (rare games worth $60 would fail to sell at $60 due to lower norms, so mediocre game sales are sacrificed instead with a higher initial MSRP to maintain that consumer expectation).
OP: The European 60GB is different from the US 60GB because it only has partial BC. They never got an EE-equipped PS3. When they got rid of 60GB BC PS3s in the US they continued selling 60GB partial-BC models in Europe and held off introducing an 80GB model until even partial-BC was gone. This adds a lot of extra votes to the 20/60GB column. Ignoring regional differences (region codes, video/power standards, etc), "20/60GB" describes three distinctly different models though one is the same as the partial-BC US 80GB with less storage space.
The poll should have:
BC 20/60GB (together or, considering the notable differences, separate)
Partial-BC 80GB/60GB (4 USB ports; multi-card reader)
Non-BC 40/80/160GB (2 USB ports; no card reader)
Non-BC Slim
Those are the distinctly different generations.

It wasn't *only* at launch (Fall 2006) :roll: Those two were the only two available at launch in the US & Japan but they continued to sell them long after introducing the PS3 in Europe and Australia without the EE (Spring 2007). At first, only PAL regions lacked full BC. The EE-less 60GB was the only one available in PAL regions at launch in 2007. No others lacked the EE until the 80GB arrived elsewhere (second half of 2007). Even the 20GB continued to be available in Japan through 2007.
