New build with parts

Antec sonata II with the 450 smart power or the coolermaster above.

E6750
Asus P5K
4-gigs pny 667
1 samsung dvd-+rw
1 500 gig Samsung drive
6+ usb external usb devices
7900GT

No overclocking which psu is the better one?

I can sell the Coolermaster easier because I can leave it factory sealed box. BTW I got the Sonata II for 40.00 after rebates and the Coolermaster paid me 5.00 after rebates from some past slickdeals. (Disclaimer)I have used many Antecs 380true's and 450 smart psu's without problems. I have read about all the horror stories with the Antec's psu's

Neither. Get the Antec Sonata III since it includes an EarthWatts 500.

:clock: C,mon psu experts! The lazy way is to use the Antec 450, but is it the right way.

Is there any major difference between the 2 I mentioned. Please keep it to those, because I'm not buying another.

How much amps does the extreme power push ? 25a or so on the 12v rail(s) ? I know the 650w extrem power can deliver 30a combined, not a whole lot for a 650w unit. I've got on myself, and I think it's a bit loud btw.

I wouldn't keep either as well, if you can sell 1, you can sell both. But overall, I think it's a tossup between the two. Their neither very good or very bad PSU's, and should serve you well.

Between those two? The Cooler Master hands down!
Older review http://jonnyguru.com/PSU/RealPower550W/
The UL # is E131875 and that means AcBel PolyTech Inc is the builder. Good unit.

The Smart Power is prolly built by HEC or CWT and will be a poor build filled with crappy Fuhjyyu crapacitors. Good luck with this door stop of a power supply. It is best used to bench test fans.

wrong PSU, no ? That's the REAL power, but we're talking about the EXTREME power.

Did her perchance review that one as well, as well as the 650w extreme power unit? Or is Real power, and Extreme power, the same thing? The search function on jonnyguru's website is seriously flawed/messed up or just plain sucks. When searching for cooler master the only one that showed up was this one, http://jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=114. Not even the one you mentioned? I guess it's in some kind of archive or something?

-Oh and in some forum post I see jonny saying he has never seen a 650w extreme power in action. Perhaps he should give it some action, seeing as theres a pretty good deal on the PSU on newegg.

So they are pretty equal to each other in terms of my needs.

Well since galvanized yankee said the antec is probably CRAP, and the cooler master is most likely not, then the cooler master would be the way to go. They didn't make him a moderator because he doesn't know his stiff ^^

The cooler master I've got hasn't let me down so far if that means anything to you.

SmartPowers are made by CWT which do use the dreaded Fuhjyyu caps. If you want to be slightly safer, I'd say go with Cooler Master.
