Which PSU?

I just bought an Asus p4b533. I will be running a 40x Lite On Burner, a WD 800JB, a DVD ROM, 512mb pc2100 ddr, an extra usb card, a firewire card, and a ATI AIW 7500.

how many watts do i need? which is the best, quietest brand?

I have a Future Power 450w, and it has 2 fans and is insane loud

lmk what yall run and recommend

300w will do you just fine.

Keep your current psu and simply replace the fan w/ 21db Panaflo's or Pabst fans.

its really annoying to replace psu fans though cause the second fan's screws are all up in the circuit board's space

anyone have recommendations for a new psu?

If you insist on getting a new power supply, the True Power series made by Antec are extremely quiet and very reliable. They make several, a 330w, 430W, and a 550W I believe. The 330W will be plenty unless your heavy into modding with lights and stuff then go with the 430W. I still can't figure out why you would need a 550W unless they make a 4 pin mini refrigerator for under your desk.......................hmmmmmm.

300-330-350 will be plenty. i happen to love Enermax, although Antec is a close second.

Another vote for Antec.. While Enermax (rebadged TTGI) makes a good P.S., you can't beat the Antec 3yr warranty.. AND quality.

They are available in 330w, 480W, and a 550W units..

4 pin mini refrigerator... hahahaha!!! I too would go with Antec. The TruPower has two fans, but are speed controlled depending on its operating temps. Enermax would be great also.

if you don't can't afford to uselessly waste money, get a codegen psu!!!! they're almost as cheap as you can get and the power is EXCELLENT!!! I built a system with xp2000, 512 ddr, gf3ti500, audigy plat ex, etc with a 300w codegen, it runs great
