which ram is better?

well i go and add my wishlist to the cart only to find my RAM is out of stock now!

Is there any reason you absolutely must have the uber expensive stuff? FWIW I have (2) $65 cas3 DDR400 Micron G modules in my rig and they are stable. I had tested some OCZ TCCD @ 260 cas 2.5 1:1 and SANDRA was only netting a 500 point memory bandwidth increase over my el-cheapo ram @ 217MHz cas3. Real world performance is probably negligible (on the A64 at least) and the ~$150 I saved went towards a nice 300GB HDD.

The 300GB HDD was an example of what you can do with the money saved. Does memory, or anything else for that matter, have to be expensive to be considered 'quality'? My el-cheapo ram is made by All Components, uses a 6 layer PCB (like all of the other quality modules) and Micron G chips. Since I build and service systems for a living I have a good grip on the term 'quality'.

So many people buy into the hype that you need uber expensive memory to obtain high FSB's or overclocks, but that simply is not the case. I'd rather see people spend a little more on a 'quality' power supply instead, even if they don't need it right now.

Well that's why there's the Value Ram from popular brands such as Cosair,Crucial etc. ,for cheaper good quality RAM.What John is trying to tell you is you dont have to opt for the expensive LL RAM.But hey,it's your money.

brotha you don't have to spend top dollah... to get quality it isn't necessarily measured in $'s.
