Btw, personally I'm not too huge on stand alone adapters (some people experience trouble with them). I'd rather punch out my own micro and nano size from mini (or breakout, if the SIM comes with it), and then tape the nano back to micro or mini with its own part. This makes sure the fit is tight, and there's no extra thickness that sometimes made them stuck on the SIM card bay.

In summary, I'd buy a normal/mini size SIM card (which sometimes come with a breakout micro), and then punch it out (and tape it back) myself as needed.

Edit: it should work, but I'm not recommending it for the S4 (for the iPhone it's fine, but not if you're expecting to put it on a micro or larger phone later).

You have to activate the SIM on the web in order to find the $30 prepaid plan. They won't let you do it over the voice call or at a store.

P.S. @cronos: really? I have used SIM adapters without trouble for quite some time. Mostly micro SIM adapter for nano SIMs. I guess it's possible the trouble you describe occur and cutting it will lessen such possibility. But if you want to use the now-smaller SIM to a larger tray you will again need an adapter?

Like I said, going back to a larger size I didn't use an adapter, but its own part that got cutout (after you cut it, keep everything). For example, when you need to put the micro-sized in a mini-SIM phone, just stick the micro back into its mini part that got cutout with a tiny piece of clear tape. It's going to be a perfect fit, and you won't have any problems.

I'm sure there are people out there who's never had any problems with adapters. My experience are with these cheap adapters that's a terrible fit and quite a bit thicker than a regular micro/mini SIM. I've had mine almost stuck once. This was a micro inside a mini adapter, the micro SIM got loose inside the phone, and pulling the adapter out caused the micro to get caught between the SIM tray and the inside of the phone. After this incident, I decided I'm not going to take any more chances and bought my own $6 SIM cutter and made sure I always requested a full/mini SIM.

In general I recommend nano with adapters. My past 3 phones have been micro SIM, but the flexibility to stick my SIM Card into an iPhone can be valuable sometimes.

Don't those adapters suck and stick in phones with trays?

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but the Samsung takes a micro SIM and the iPhone a nano SIM. If you are not planning on changing phones regularly just get the correct size for the phone.
