Currently have a 1.6A / 8SRX / PC2700 Samsung DDR as my main system. The 1.6A is o'c to 2.25ghz @ 1.575v @ 142FSB and the memory is running at 177 @ 2.6v. My memory can do 185 but then I had to lower the FSB to 140 to get that speed, and the benchmarks ended up pretty much the same. Unfortunately I can't get my 1.6A to run stable at 145+ FSB (it boots into WinXP but can't run Serious Sam w/o crashing), and I'm reluctant to push over 1.65v on the cpu since I'm still using the stock hs/f.

The 8SRX is really easy to overclock. In the BIOS, when you increase the FSB/MEM, the PCI/AGP will also go up. But then you can just scroll back down and lower the PCI/AGP settings w/o affecting the FSB/MEM. It has 33/66 PCI/AGP settings when the FSB/MEM is 133/133 or 133/166.

So if lets say the cpu is overclocked bad ass on the cpu bus like 150mhz, then the lowest pci and agp settings would be like 67 mhz and 37 mhz. Well that agp and pci bus oc doesn't sound bad at all then, unless the cpu is oc'ed like to 166mhz, then my geforce 3 ti200 and some pci cards mite crap big time then. But it still sounds great to me. Well, my kt133 mobo have have just got f'ed for some freaking reason i can't install xp ne more after it probably contracted a virus and i tried everything for the last several days trying to fix it with no go, i mite just havta get a new mobo now and the gigabyte 8srx and 1.6a sings in my ears, unless i decide to go for a cheapy ecs kt266a mobo for my new spare athlon. Thanks for all the help guys.

the msi 645 mobo is only about $7 more and it totally blows the biostar and ecs away.

Dang Frys...
I was going there to get a 1.6 P4 oem williamette cpu and msi 645 ultra for $150, went a day after the initial weekend sale and they were sold out, saying there were in low supply (a devious plot to get pple to go there) in the first place. Not only that, they offer to replace the msi 645 ultra with a dog crap dfi micro atx sis 650 chipset, what bs! Anyone know where i can get a nice deal for a northwood or just a williamette and a nifty sis 645 mobo. Thanks.
