Which sound cards is the best for dvd's, games, and music?

what about the Philips Acoustic Edge? When it was brand new, there were some rave reviews on this card.

what's wrong with your audigy 2? i say get the m-audio if you're gonna get something new. i have the same speakers but not the decorder box yet. i'm going to get it eventually. i had the hercules game theater xp card on my desktop but i now have a laptop so i don't use it anymore. it was an amazing card. i loved it. if i got something it'd be the m-audio revolution 7.1 but i don't see why you're upgrading from the audigy 2.

i am an upgrading freak.

the klipsch decoder box RULES...i really recommend it to everyone.

I have none of those listed... In my main computers I have a Philips Acoustic Edge, Philips Seismic Edge 5.1, Aztech PCI368DSP (Philips/QSound ThunderBird 128) and Philips Sonic Edge 5.1. I like the Philips cards because of QSounds QMSS, which expands stereo content to each individual speaker instead of just using stereo 2X. On the Philips AE and SE 5.1, it will also expand a external stereo source such as a TV Tuner card or a Radio / Turntable.

Sadly though, while the cards still work quite well, the driver updates for the AE and SE 5.1 have been non existant. Driver updates for the Sonic Edge 5.1 have been very good however.
