for 250 I take the speakers over a proc. They are gonna be round longer before they need to be replaced.
Besides 250 aint gonna make my proc. go any faster

I have the FPS2000, and my friend just got a pair of klipschs, and i'm not really all that impressed. Sure it goes really loud, but i think there is too much treble and too much bass and not enough mids. So its like having your ears pierced of high frequencies and pounded to death with the sub. I prefer my FPS2000 over it. It might not go as loud, but their quality is 95% of the klipschs, and for $150 less, i think its really the best buy you can get..

Then i think your friend has his klipsch setup wrong. The klipsch have a much clearer sound then the fps2000. They can reproduce high frequencies accurately while keeping the midrange.. something the fps2k can't do. fps 2k sound like small speakers, big midrange hole. I hope your friend didn't set his subwoofer to max and put his klipsch sattilites too close to his head or something.

The klipsch aren't just "louder".. if that were the only benefit no one would buy them. Its all around sound quality.

forgot to add my speaker history . Soundworks Microworks/soundworks/Dtt2500 5.1/Klipsch promedia. My dtt2500 were basically your fps2k with a bonus speaker, so i think i knwo what i'm talking about. also the fps/dtt use the same speaker sats as the original soundworks. No improvement there. They are good cheap sound, but great sound they aren't

Oh yeah, he had em tuned wrong...mine is nice and well balanced, and I can go high with no distortion, lets see Creative (yes that is who makes those FPS 2000's) do that. And I like that they are the first or one of few who rate their PC speakers and sell them rated with RMS instead of MAX...Like those 29.95 800W speakers you see at CompUSA or mom and pop's

Not really arthurb, creative was not behind that. Cambridge soundworks started selling the soundworks/micro soundworks computer speakers before creative purchased the company. At that time, yes they were competing with "800watt" b.s. speakers from taiwan.

yea, the fps came out after the creative buyout thing. At the time i wanted a 4.1 package based on the microsoundworks, but that never came out. obviously the fps2k's are based on the soundworks. Hopefully they will come out with something more like the klipsch for their high end package, the microsoundworks sadly don't cut it anymore. hehe our standards just keep going up

You wanna know how much i paid for the soundworks Microworks 3 years ago? $350 US dollars. Actually i got the plain soundworks 1st, but they had a trade in deal if you weren't satisfied within a year. Got a 2nd pair for soundworks for sister a year later now my sister uses the microworks and i use $250 klipsch.

ok, just ordered the acs 56 speakers and now i looked online and found a set of the speakers for a lot cheaper. But what does White Box mean? Is that like the oem version and is there any difference between oem and retail?

Less documentation, and an unbranded box is usually all the difference, and some OEM hardware will not come with drivers, but speakers don't really need drivers.

How about Microsoft DSS80 Speaker system? I got them cheap, $100CDN a year ago and I love them. I had (and still have) Creative PC Works before them.

The DSS80s give out clean bass and midrange. The highs are "ok", but not the best. But there is almost no distortion with the DSS80s. For the price, those speakers kick ass.

BTW, its really hard to get Klipchs in Toronto.

I have the ACS 45.1 and 2 sets of the ACS 48.1's. Both are great for the money. The 48.1's are still available at the local Office Max for $99. They have much better satellites than the 45.1 and stronger bass. The 45.1 seems to have a deeper cleaner bass, but with much less impact.

I got the acs 56 set. I LOVE them. They are so awesome and definitely worth every penny of the 87 bucks I spent. I am a sound buff but not 250 dollars worth!
