Two different sports with really different muscle fibers being used. A wrestler probably can't stay on the pitch for as long as a soccer player but then again a soccer player probably can't as long as wrestler can on the mat (pinning and tapping out aside).

You'd be surprised at the conditioning wrestlers actually do. Especially for those that cut weight. Hours of running in a sweat suit (yes, illegal in a lot of cases, but still used) or riding a stationary bike with the heat cranked all the way up is very common.

What takes more endurance? Running a Marathon or being a power lifter?
The things you are debating both require endurance, but they are different types. One requires a consistant pace over a longer period while the other requires alot of endurance over a very short burst.

Wrestlers don't have some kind of special way to condition themselves. They do it like everyone else, they do lots and lots of cardio.

Sure, there's plenty of typical cardio in the conditioning. But that doesn't come even close to the full extent of training.
Anaerobic conditioning is much more important than aerobic conditioning for wrestling.

Hockey to soccer is a more suitable comparison.

Since this thread question is stupid, I have a sort of off topic question for the wrestlers out there. Do you have to be at least a little gay to enjoy wrestling? I mean come on, 2 sweaty guys in leotards pawing at each other? That sounds like hell to me. But to a gay dude that is heaven.
Have you never wrestled with a friend, your dad? Your child? Never play fought with someone else? How bout a real fight where you grappled? How about football where one guy falls on another? Rugby? Basketball, touching at each other, trying to steal the ball sometimes hitting them where ever?
Point being, stop being a homophob - there is nothing gay about wrestling.

If you've done both sports, you know the answer.
BTW, it's not even close.
There's a reason why soccer players are so skinny/fit.
