MX4 is my fave choice so far, It knocked 10c off my CPU which had Arctic Silver 5 previously, also a massive improvement on my graphics card temps and fan noise.

Arctic silver is kind of old news now. I use TX 2 and it works great. MX4 is also a good one.

IC Diamond is solid. I use MX for everything else because it's dirt cheap, but IC Diamond 7 had the best results on my CPU testing against AS5 and MX-3. MX-4 probably isn't much better than MX-3, but who knows?

TX-2 is my personal favorite nowadays... much better than the TX-3 crap.

Performance will obviously rely heavily on the actual processor/speed + cooler you want to use.

I really like both the IC 7 and Noctua myself. I wish these reviews would do a longer-term test. I would love to see 9-10 of the top tested over a year in an constant-on enviornment to see what the temps do over time.

I have noticed that the IC 7 doesn't degrade much, if at all over longer periods of time. This is really nice and is the reason I like to use it for machines I know I don't need/want to reseat for a while. Noctua is my go-to when I know I may need to re-mount or replace the HSF in the near to mid-term future.

Um because these are the only ones my local store supplies

OK that's understandable, but why not order it online? Probably save some money too if any of them had free shipping (not TOO common on TIMs). In any case, you'd have a far greater selection.

No matter, you've already bought some so I hope it works well for you.

Skinnee Labs are the best authority on characterizing and ranking TIM performance.

This is the direct link to their thermal paste review section, and here is the direct link to their 2011-2012 Thermal Compound Roundup.

Those links are a gold mine of info and darn interesting as well. Thanks for posting those. I'm going to do a search, but do you know off-hand if they've tested any thermal adhesives or epoxies? Or any place that has tested products like that? I was looking for some reviews of Ceramic Thermal Adhesives, but didn't see a whole lot out there.

Unfortunately I stop digging into their charts as soon as I see what I want to see (the confirmation bias is strong in this one) so I can't tell you whether they have anything more than what I already linked

I've used them all, from MX-4, to AS5, to CLP, to NT-H1. Even used Switech... Something, whatever their new paste is with blocks.

Me personally MX-4 is the winner. They are all within such a few degrees of eachtoher. But MX-4 is by far the easiest to clean, even after long uses.
