Which to buy? Left for Dead 2 or CoD:MW2

From what I hear L4D2 is extremely hard. This can be a pro or a con (pro for me).

CoD is almost as arcade shooter as Halo 3, but I still have put in almost 2 days worth of game play.

I can tell you I'm really enjoying L4D2. I liked L4D1 but wasn't going to buy 2 figured same same why bother, but friend talked me into it and wow it's twice the game as the first.

Longer campaigns, better graphics in daylight + weather effects, far more diverse and open landscapes, tons of new weapons, additional special infected, and maps designed so that endings don't consist of four players turtling in a closet for ten minutes.

They have new gameplay modes too, altough I've not yet tried scavenger.

L4D2 all the way. The single player modes indeed are VERY hard when played on higher difficulties, but for me this is a plus. Multiplayer is a blast, and really requires coordinated teamwork to pull off. And, I've already seen user-made maps start showing up on the servers (the game's only been out a week). And you can get this for like $40.

CoD:MW2 I won't buy. I've talked to people that beat the campaign on the FIRST TRY in 3 hours. The multiplayer is fun, but the lack of dedicated server support on the PC means no new maps, mods, or anything else EVER unless you buy it from the developer. Lame in my opinion, and I'm not going to waste my money when there are so many other great games out there.

Both are sequels that just add more to the existing formula. If you haven't played either of the previous games...well, that's one hell of a rock you been living under .

I would recommend L4D2, but there is an army of MW2 fans that I'm sure would disagree.

I have both and have put probably a few hours in each of them.

L4D 2 as wrbt said adds quite a bit to the first game and IMO it's decently harder, even in Normal difficulty. I rarely had problems beating a campaign in L4D 1 on Normal, but even with a decent team now it is sometimes a good challenge.

MW 2 I haven't really noticed much changes from MW 1 (besides the whole no mod/dedicated server thing), though I have only played the single-player campaign mode so far.

If you only want to buy one, I'd say get L4D 2, but so far I've been definitely enjoying both games.

L4D2 will give you more joy online than MW2 can ever do.

I'm in the same boat between the games. I think I'd go with L4D2. I played the demo and really loved it. Too bad MW2 doesn't have a demo, but from all the clips around on it it does look like it may be a little too "arcade" for my liking.

i just wish you could refill the chainsaw with the gas containers that you
pick up....nothing beats an event with you are tanking the horde with the chainsaw

I vote Left 4 Dead 2. Like others have said, it's very difficult on the higher difficulty settings.

Id have to agree. MW2 is a pretty terrible skilless MP game anyways. Theres already a billion hacks out for the game too. L4D2 for $30 is a pretty good deal. Not quite the killer $20 weekend deal steam had for L4D1 last time but....its cool to see some stores already at the $30 line.

But the single player of MW2 is fantastic...
