Which Tv Tuner Card To Get

I'm using an ATI Theater 650 Pro. with Vista Ultimate x64. Works very well with my BeyondTV software. Quality of recordings and TV is pretty good.

My neighbor has the PCI-E x1 version of the 650 pro and I have a Hauppauge, Granted mine is a cheap one. Once I saw the quality of the picture and recordings I had to take mine out till I can get a 650. Not to mention Hauppauge software is rather bad, only my opinion though.

I have the VBOX CatEye 164e PCIe, only because it was the only PCIe card at the time (actually there was one other but it wasn't very good) and my Shuttle XPC HTPC only had a 16x and a 1x PCIe slot.

I've been pretty happy with it. Dual ATSC/QAM tuners, and an FM tuner that doesn't work.

Vista compatibility is good and there are regular driver updates. Works great with Beyond TV. The dual tuners take awhile to get to work in Beyond TV but I finally got them cooperating when I record a show and watch a different one.

Cost about $150 eight months ago.

I am not using haupange software just media center , the card was kind of cheap $60 after mir. The only difference I see is that ati comes with component while hauppauge doesn't. Not sure how much difference it will be by getting ati.
