I've given up trying to get my old WRT54GS to work (fully) with my Synology DS212j. Not enough ports available, verified by Synology and at Portforward.com.
So, the E4200 looks to be a compatible (w/Synology) router. But there are two revs available, v1 and v2. I know the spec differences ... v2 is an N900 vs. N750 for v1, and v2 can handle 50 wireless devices instead of 10 like the v1.
But the big question (to me) is : Is one rev "better" than the other in terms of reliability/longevity ? Because while the E4200 gets good performance reviews, there's also a lot of anecdotal evidence out there that these units don't last too long.
Thanks.
