I currently have a ATI All in wonder rage 128 Pro 16megs AGP video card. I'm looking for something that has excellent 2d performence, and good gaming performence to.

System specs:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Xp 2400+ cpu
512megs of PC2700 ram
2x 40gig maxtor hard drives
5x DVD player
24x10x40 LG CD Burner
LG Studioworks E900B 19" flat screen monitor.

Thanks

For a little more on newegg (60-70), I'd get a Radeon 9100. The preformance is about the same, but the 9100 has better image quality.
The again it could be personal bias

For around $89, you can get a 64 MB GeForce 4 Ti 4200 that would be great for games. Just make sure to read the product reviews, though, because some brands have better image quality than others.

That is what i have and it is good for all the games I have thrown at it. I would also sugest it for a low priced card.

I recomend a radeon 9000, 9000 pro, or radeon 9100. they are fast enough to play the latest games and have excellant 2d quality, plus fullstream makes movie play back look real good.

Hey, that's not a bad idea! I saw a 128 MB Gainward Golden Sample Ti 4200 card listed in there for $89!

OK, I've changed my mind, in a sense. If you're really trying to be penny-pinching, get the Radeon 9100. If you're trying to get every last drop of juice out of those one hundred dollars, get a Ti4200 or even a 4400.

Just my four cents

A Radeon 9100 128MB for $60 is the best performing card for the money...will slaughter that MX440 ..comparable to a ti4200

Edit- Not to mention this card has best Image quality and DVD playback in this price range your looking for
