Which Would You Pick with E6600 for High FSB?

Hi All. Would just like to know which mobo you all would pick assuming you were going to run an E6600 at 3.6ghz 24/7...@450 x 8 or with a little luck @515 x 7 ? Air cooling with an Antec Nine Hundred case & Thermalright Ultra 120 + Scythe 120mm fan. Out of these 3 mobos:

1. Asus P5B Deluxe
2. Gigabyte DS3 Rev 3.3
3. Abit Quad GT

I already know that because of the 1066 strap, the Abit board would probably be the fastest @450 x 8 or lower FSB. But this board is new, has some issues, and running on beta Bioses basically. I also dont like how the Abit forum went down and stayed down for 1+ week during Chinese new year and just again with server probs the other day. Please comment on ease of use, assembly, bios, and overall stability.

My RAM is G-Skill PC6400HZ (Micron D9s) & PSU is PC Power & Cooling 610W (12v = 49A). All SATA drives will be used. No RAID, no IDE.

Thx for your time.

I've never seen where both the English and Taiwan sites were down at the same time on Abits site I dont know the reason for thier site dropping periodically but its been going on for about 3-4 years. It is rather annoying but seems improved everytime it comes back up and thats not saying much as it was degrading previously to going down. Atleast that what appears to be going on from my observation with them from the past 6 years. It never done that before they split up the support server, but is now the norm and no need to cause any real alarm as you can still navagate thru the other site. It will be slower from increased traffic and it's based half way around the world from the USA.

I wouldn't give-up my Abit IC7-G for anything. Even know I can currently sell it for about $50 more than I paid for it new, on eBay right now. It's still very fast and is the best overclocker of it's class. It runs @ 3.96Ghz 1:1 everyday. Will run over 4Ghz but crashes sometimes in Battlefield2 unacceptable to me. I blame that damn Corsair 550pro2x1Gb mem lol pretty lights tho, but to nearly hit 4Ghz on air I still hold the company with high regards.

So you're partial to Abit.... but does this mean you would choose the Quad GT? The choice was out of the above 3. Thx

that's abit-USA not abit globally though.
The first was a bit of bad luck in having problems when the person in charge of the servers was on holiday
The 2nd one was really bad luck as the whole building where they are got hit by a massive surge & (hopefully) is unlikely to be repeated.
Either could happen to any company & not just mobo mfrs.

As for the board it's been great.
Easy build & very stable.
In terms of ease of use I find it a dawdle but I accept that I'm very used to abits & their ways.
Had a DS4 before & it's a nice board too but I'm not sad that I swapped - I missed uGuru for 1 as abit's hardware/fan monitoring & control imo are the best in the business.

.
Board should love that RAM, in fact it does as I already had some in it
If you're all SATA & no RAID then even B02 is fine for you - that's what I've been running.
Actually, I think that the initial shipping is fine too in that config - I can't even remember why I changed.

I too have an ABIT IC7 : ) awesome motherboard... but died last year. I do love Abit too : )

I go with Gigabyte DS3P personally because its all solid cap, 6 phase power supply , 8 port sata and great bios. I think its hell good for the price. But if your willing to spend 200ish for Asus P5B Deluxe then i would rather get Abit AW9D-MAX. But i say the money and get Gigabyte 965p-ds3.

A thread you should have a look at : http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1138241

If i could have found a DFI RD600 in stock at my local retail i would have bought that and install a much better NB heatsink. Its got the most awesome bios for overclocking

Asus P5B Deluxe. I had my E6600 at 3.6Ghz stable and my FSB to 400 with mem ratio 1:1. With Corsair XMS DDR2 675.

Thx Josh. But I intend to push the FSB much higher and drop the multi to 7 or 8. That's the context in which I'm asking this question. Doing 400 x 9 is relatively easy.

I have heard of people getting over 500Mhz FSB with the P5B Deluxe..........
It's not so easy to reach that with the 975 chipset.
