While waiting for my PSU ...

So I'm stuck for a week or so, waiting for the store to send me my Thermaltake 750W PSU. In the meanwhile i began considering whether i should replace it with a PC Power & Cooling 750W PSU.

Will run either one of them on a ...

* lian li pc-7110a
* intel i7 920 (overclocked)
* asus rampage II extreme
* corsair dominator ddr-3 1600mhz 6gb (overclocked)
* nvidia gtx260 (core 216), sli / crossfire will be used in the future
* samsung sh-s223q
* 4x sata-2 harddrives (a total of ~3tb)
* external western digital harddrive
* external firewire m-audio soundcard
* samsung 19" lcd

Modular cables are very nice since it reduces unnecessary cables and improves airflow, but I'm putting the matter of stableness and reliability as an important need as well.
Anyone with experience from either one, that might wanna tell me what to go for?

Modular is nice, But it's really up to you whether you want to pay the extra $100 in this case for it.


You mention SLI/CF in the future? I'd definitely get the PCP&C then, with it's 4 PCI-e connectors

Oh, I just used the newegg sites as a product resource.
Here where I'm from (Finland), the price of the PCP&C costs 149.00? and the Thermaltake costs 129.00?. So it's quite the opposite, they cost almost the same

Personally I'd still stick with the PCP&C. It won't be modular which will hurt your cable management a bit, but when you step up to SLI you're going to use adapters on the Thermaltake, which will even it oout more or less. Personal preference here I guess.

Alright, so we've got one positive reason for each of them.
How about power wise and stability? It's kind of the decider here for me.

Also the adapters for SLI.
Since I've never had SLI nor CrossFire earlier, are there loose adapters available for Power supplies that don't include them?

In the jonnyguru review of the Thermaltake (which it got 9/10, JG recommended) it looks to have 3 pci-e connectore, but you'd still need an adapter for 260 SLI. Both PSU's seem to be good, similar priced units. There doesn't seem to be a wrong option here
