A quick froogle search shows the cheapest price on this as $59. Many others had it for the $89-$99 range. Seems like a decent deal assuming they don't ream you on shipping.

This is a good deal. I have one already that I got off of ebay for about the same price. I'm sure the people who paid $300 for the radar detectors don't want to hear it, but it's saved me 4 tickets just fine, though I usually don't go over 90mph anyway.

a buddy of mine has a velentine one. It is awesome. I had never seen it work before untill the other day. We were going along and it was chirping as we go by rite aid and such then it starts beeping more and more and finally it was like top gun. "I've got tone, firing!" A cop was sitting there right around the corner. My buddy saw it coming a mile away. It was a solid tone, just like in the movie AWESOME!

people should check on where they live. these are illegal in DC and I think W. Virginia (can you say NSA)

If I was a speeder I'd be all over this deal.

be aware that most radars use Ka these days. also note that with the second link, it's laser sensitivity is rated the same as the V1 (althought i'm not stating they are that comparable), but there are more false alarms.

Agree...if you want protection via a radar detector, its not even a question. There is no value in buying a cheap radar detector -- they won't save you from anything as they will constantly beep...

especially these 2lb paperweight models..

However, I have nothing but respect for Joker -- I don't mean to thread crap...
