TigerDirect is actually a fantastic retailer these days, and they've been so for a while. Definitely much better than they were 3-4 years ago. By the way, worked out to $45.35 for me, with shipping. Don't know if OP made a math error, or if different locations get different shipping rates.

I was always under the impression that while TigerDirect typically had higher prices, their customer service was good, and their clearence sales were outstading bargains.

They have a lot of sales that are only advertised to their email list.

I even phoned them during their business hours and got a recording saying that they were closed and to please call during business hours.

I thought Tiger Direct and its various rebate houses had turned over a new leaf these past few years, but apparently not.

Actually I refuse to shop TD because of an experience in the late 1990s. They sold me a pre-built system that was a total POS and they essentially refused to do much of anything about it. Their customer service was rude, obnoxious, and eventually resulted to calling names and threatening me. All I asked for was a replacement or replacement parts (both were options in the warranty). Eventually I got the state Attorney Generals office involved. The whole experience was bad enough that I still get a twinge of anger anytime I see TD deals posted on here.

Combine my experience with the hundreds (maybe thousands) of bad feedback comments I have read here over the years and it is just not worth it to even consider them again. This tiger may claim to have changed their stripes, but they will never change their soul.

In the past year I have had nothing but excellent service from Tiger Direct. No problems with rebates or Bing cashback. I really like that they show you the cashback amount during checkout! On the other hand, Newegg has really been going downhill imho.

i like tiger direct bought only few cpu and dont do rebates, also if you check out reviews tons of peps say lasted 60 days or less with failure that didnt let any backup of files, i prefer not to worry as much but do backup important stuff.. Matter of fact i think ill run another backup now after reading those reviews.

Yeah, I don't know guys. If you haven't had trouble with Tiger Direct, you've been lucky or haven't ordered enough times from them. Just tracked down an old post a few months ago:

At your own risk guys. I'm 5 emails deep into a cashback issue w/ TD as we speak. For the 5850 too. They have not approved my $46.50 and I am trying to tell MS that this is the *only* reason I ordered from them. Showed them confirmation screen print and I am still not resolved after a week.

I did finally get the payment. But it was after alot of BS when I followed all the rules. Good thing I kept a damn screen print. What if I hadn't?
