The assertion is that you wouldn't say good, white, Christian Americans would be equally to blame if a muslim ran into them.
The assertion is wrong....assuming these "good, white, Christian Americans" were taunting and violently confronting a Muslim rally.

And let me be absolutely clear here...I'm not saying the Antifa are equally the blame here....I'm saying they share in a portion of the blame.

Buzzfeed has a somewhat less biased view of what exactly happened based on reports from people on the ground:
https://www.buzzfeed.com/blakemontgomery/heres-what-really-happened-in-charlottesville

Highlights:
- The right-wingers were more prepared for violence. Most white supremacist and Nazi groups arrived armed like a paramilitary force — carrying shields, protective gear, rods, and yes, lots of guns, utilizing Virginia’s loose firearm laws.
- The opposition was largely winging it, preferring to establish bases in other parks with water, coffee, food, first aid, and comfort.
- A few of the counterprotesters — namely members of a group called Redneck Revolt — were armed with shotguns, assault rifles, and pistols. But there were many more guns on the right, many carried by a group called the Three Percenters, a heavily armed “patriot” militia group that’s acted as security at other alt-right rallies in Portland and elsewhere.
- Those groups [Redneck Revolt & Three Percenters], evidently aware of the real danger, appeared to keep members of each side separate from the other in certain areas. Three Percenters stood on one side of Emancipation Park, Redneck Revolters a few blocks away at a different park.

Three Percenters said in an official statement after the rally that they disowned the racist groups at Unite the Right and issued a stand-down order during the rally.
- The weapon of choice — for the police, right-wing fighters, and antifa alike — was pepper spray. Police used the most, blasting it from large canisters at protesters. None of the fights that broke out lasted very long because one side or the other would use pepper spray to rescue their combatants.
- Right-wing extremists and white nationalists fought the police, which is highly unusual. (At previous rallies in Berkeley and Portland, the alt-right has complied with police direction and sought permits for their gatherings, which has helped them maintain the stance that they are acting in self-defense when things get violent. The permits, in particular, ensure that their left-wing antagonists, often antifa in Black Bloc formation, end up on the wrong side of a police riot shield.)
- Police pushed [Unite the Right] along the entire length of the park and down the stone steps into a waiting, screaming crowd [of counter-protestors]

Right wing terrorists make up 74% of the killeings over the last 10 years. 24% are Muslim and 2% are liberal. So antifas portion of the blame is around 2%.

But we don't like nazis in this country.

"but... but... hear them out... they're having their 1st amendment rights violated, blah, blah blah..."

When you start becoming the arbiter of what constitutional rights can be ignored, you now have become a nazi and are no different. Any of those groups wanting to use violence, intimation, and a different set of rights or laws against groups of individuals because of differences in some beliefs or a perceived superiority do not have a place in the US.

they are mad because antifa is a violent group, which is certainly true. Obviously, then, their violence is the same as the Nazis, therefore #bothsides# seems a statement of value to the typical Nazi-minded conservative like tajmahal and DSF. Such alt-righters don't accept the fact that groups like antifa exist and become active only because Nazis and other fascists exist. This is too complicated for them.

Don't know if the Anti-FA is the same in the US as in the UK but over here the Anti-FA is most certainly no better than the Nazi/BNP types.

Anti-FA are anti-liberalism, anti-capitalism as well and will target families and friends of Tories, Lib-Dems as well as anyone else who isn't extreme left. Usually starts out with breaking windows and burning cars and ends with beating up anyone who disagrees with their violent actions. Yeah, they'd consider you their enemy as much as the Nazis.

Their methods remind me a lot about the far left separatist groups we saw in the '70's which is probably where they got their inspiration in the first place.

Anti-FA are anti-liberalism as much as anything else so no, they are not counted as liberals any more than the Nazis are.

Yeah, sorry but Nazis need to be shut down one way or the other, they have lost all fucking human dignity and do not deserve a podium to spread their hatred.

If you cannot convince them to stop, they might just need a punch in the face.

Shrek, Zin, and the rest of the morally and intellectually superior around here assign labels to anyone that doesn't parrot the daily progressive talking points. Doesn't matter what you say unless it is Liberal approved. They go around saying anything and everything except for the truth and making an actual point. I guess I'm being a triggered, snowflake, racist, nazi, phobe conservative with my dog whistle.

damn, those daily progressive talking points that command me to oppose Nazis. DAMN THOSE PROGRESSIVES TO HELL! D:

protip, dingleberry: I don't call Nazis, Nazis because I disagree with them politically. I call them Nazis because they are fucking Nazis.

When nazis speak, it's always advocating violence, since theirs views are violent by default. So no, free speech doesn't necessarily apply to all speech.

I guess when you stand up against the left leaning racists and extremists. I stated my position before against bigots and the hard core left and right nutjobs trying to drag this country down to a 3rd world cesspool where people can't do anything for fear of being attacked because you are not on the correct side.

you let me know when that happens in any significant way, and I will. Fact is, right-wing "christian" terrorism from US citizens is very much a greater threat to you and I than any kind of muslim terrorism, in this country

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/u-s-sees-300-violent-attacks-inspired-far-right-every-year/

The right wing is, by far, BY FAR, the seed of the most violent, most dangerous terrorist acts in this country over the last several decades, outside of 9-11 (also right-wing conservatives, you know?). Pro-tip: you better show up with real data before spouting bold lies as support for unfounded beliefs. There is nothing to fear from those evil lefty treehuggers--not yet, anyway. Let's deal with your people--the actual threat to this country--first, K?

For racists Obama must have been a total nightmare. A constant reminder that a black man is greater than them and achieved more than they ever will. They must have wet the bed every night for eight years.

It seemed to be a start and enabling of a new set of racists.

Do you guys have any credible sources to answer brandonbull's question? Maybe something from Hanity or Alex Jones?
