I have no family in upstate New York, I lived there while my dad went back to college. Also, I was born in Tennessee. You don't need to be an elitist to hate the south, you just need to be a rational, intelligent person. At any rate, my first-hand anecdotal evidence is at the least better presented and argued than yours.
